RSPCA WEEK

The Sutton Branch of the RPSCA would like to thank all those wonderful
people who contributed throughout the 2 days we were at Tesco on Sutton
by-pass. We had collectors at this location on May 2nd and May 3rd and
they were certainly kept extremely busy.
Not
only were we given monetary donations but we were also given donations
of pet food. We collected a total of
£454.90 which was an increase on last year.

Our volunteers were amazed at how generous the community had been in
regards to pet food donations. We actually collected several trolley-loads
of dog and cat food. This has now been distributed between Putney Animal
Hospital, South Godstone Animal Centre and the South London Animal Collection
base. The animals at our Centre's and Hospitals are very appreciative
as are all the staff. Amongst the pet food donations were small sachets
of food which is very handy. When our Inspector comes across hungry
animals needing our help, the sachet contents can be squeezed through
small openings if there is no immediate access to the animal in concern.
This is ideal as it may take an hour or more for an animal to be rescued.
Our
Sutton Branch takes in other unused items as well as donations of
pet food.
