Sutton Branch is run by a very small, friendly team of volunteers, who are in desperate need of some new people to sit on the committee, to help run the branch and get involved with fund-raising events and schemes. Please read on - it's actually quite good fun! Can you spare us twelve hours per annum? We met just six times a year, on a Tuesday evening in central Sutton for two hours. It's not onerous: the usual Agenda covers updates from our Inspector, Chair, Secretary and Treasurer, also information on how our re-homing and voucher schemes are doing, news on how the new Clinic is coming along, with all its legal paperwork and essential refurbishment being arranged, a little chat on past an future branch events, and anything else that needs attention. We feel rather like a family, keeping the local animals healthy and seeing to their needs via our animal welfare schemes, and being distressed at the local cruelty cases we hear about, or saddened by a report of a multi-cat household requiring a large dose of our low-cost neutering scheme. The majority of us also juggle work commitments and young children, so we do understand how busy people are - but the plus side of helping a local charity is your "feel good factor".
We can have up to fourteen committee members, but we struggle to get the minimum number of seven, so if just one or two of you reading this fancy joining us to help YOUR local RSPCA Sutton, then please contact Di on: di@rspcasutton.co.uk. If we go below the minimum number, the branch has to be suspended, and all our welfare facilities are stopped - no neutering, no vouchers for sick pets, no identichipping, no new clinic, absolutely nothing. Ideally you need to live in postcodes SM1-6, KT4 or CR4 to be able to best help Sutton Branch in Surrey.
